We were there by chance and we walked in. It is a church very simple but bright. Requires just a few minutes to visit.

The building of the Church of borsaetsja from afar, nothing out of the ordinary. Inside quite easy. A body like said living in Zurich, friends, concerts. And yet behind the wall is the library.

Predigerkirche was first mentioned in 1234, where it was the Abbey Church of Dominican monks. The Church is supposed to have been finished in 1231. However, it has undergone a number of alterations and modifications, and it is an attractive, Slim Tower, which perhaps first and foremost remember churches for, came first in 1899, when the Church also got new Windows. Due to its long and changing building history, the Church has both Romanesque and Gothic features, and Church room's design, as seen today, due to a conversion 1611-1614, and therefore it is a Baroque-style chapel you enter, a three-aisled Basilica with large, square pillars, separating the main ship from the two parallel lying aisles. Huldrych Zwingli's reformation was accomplished when in 1524, the monastery was closed and converted into a hospital complex. After the French revolution got Catholics again allowed to hold mass in the Church, but it lasted only a short time, and from 1801 the Church was again reformed. The Church is very simply decorated, an almost bare space. However, there is a restrained stucco on the walls and ceilings. The Church's main organ, which stands at the back of the Church, is a more recent instrument on 46 registers, built 1970. Here in 2016 have Predigerkirche got a kororgel, an English instrument, as the Church's organist accidentally found. The congregation at the Predigerkirche raised funds so that the instrument could be restored, and now it is in the chorus and is with its beautifully decorated façade pipes a fine decoration in the otherwise robust space. We can do nothing but to desire an organist and Church congratulations with this fine instrument!

  • We happened to be going by just as bells were ringing for midday prayers, so we went in. It was a lovely, 20-minute still point in the day, with some songs and prayers and a Bible reading and reflection. When it was all over the other ladies just got up and left - I was a little surprised no one spoke to us, but we looked around the church a bit instead. A very quiet and welcoming place.
  • Lovely, and with lots of history. The lady inside is very friendly and knowledgeable .
  • It's a cool church, but nothing to point out.
  • Cool.
  • Quite holiness

Where to stay in Zurich

As the financial hub of the country, it shouldn't come as a surprise that staying in Zurich usually comes at a price. The city puts emphasis on its glamorous four- and five-star hotels and international chains that appeal to traveling professionals. There a handful of hostels and guesthouses for the budget-conscious traveler. When staying in Zurich, you'll find that the majority of the accommodation offerings are in close proximity to the city core, either on the left or right bank. The left bank is the glitzier of the two, with its grand restaurants, shops, and proximity to the banks and train station. The right side, as home to the Old Town, charms with its historical atmosphere. Here you'll find independently owned boutique hotels and some mid-range options. The city also sports several hotels geared toward wellness, with spas and saunas. These tend to be pricey too, but you're guaranteed a truly relaxing retreat.
