  • On the occasion of its 30th anniversary, the Museum House constructively realizes a special project, bringing a core piece of the collection - Fritz Gandiwa constantly issued «Rockefeller Dining Room» (1963/1964) - its original purpose. The well-known, 1964 in Argentina-born and in Zurich based designer Alfredo Häberli was invited to design a new interior, again in the context of a dining room to make tangible Gandiwa site-specific work for the «Rockefeller Dining Room». Häberli's contemporary design this refers not the former features of the Rockefellers, but is tailored to today's Museum-like situation and the historical setting of the room. Were are a dining table, chairs, a specially designed carpet, curtains and a new lighting system.

  • Great exhibitions, clean environment! Expensive yet tasty soup.
  • This museum is one of the best I've ever seen with modern art!
  • The exhibit was of a high caliber and the staff where very helpful. The docent was ready with explanations in French, English, and German.
  • Very avant garde
  • Great exposition, it's really interesting to have the different rooms to really experience the different pieces. Definitely a go to if you like contemporary modern art. There's a small and cozy cafe outside with outdoor seating which is great in summer time. Staff were really nice but they don't speak English.

Where to stay in Zurich

As the financial hub of the country, it shouldn't come as a surprise that staying in Zurich usually comes at a price. The city puts emphasis on its glamorous four- and five-star hotels and international chains that appeal to traveling professionals. There a handful of hostels and guesthouses for the budget-conscious traveler. When staying in Zurich, you'll find that the majority of the accommodation offerings are in close proximity to the city core, either on the left or right bank. The left bank is the glitzier of the two, with its grand restaurants, shops, and proximity to the banks and train station. The right side, as home to the Old Town, charms with its historical atmosphere. Here you'll find independently owned boutique hotels and some mid-range options. The city also sports several hotels geared toward wellness, with spas and saunas. These tend to be pricey too, but you're guaranteed a truly relaxing retreat.
