  • Two museums in Winterthur is named after art collector Oskar Reinhart (1885 – 1965): Museum Oskar Reinhart in Winterthur's city centre and saw his "Am Römerholz" private villa, which was opened as a museum open to the public in 1970. Oskar Reinhart was born into the trading company Gebrüder Volkart, which had been founded in 1851 by his grandfather. He took over the company from his father, and was financially unable to build out the art collection, which he also inherited, significantly. Sammlung Oskar Reinhart Am Römerholz, located just north of Winterthur's city centre. From Museum Oskar Reinhart, which, incidentally, is a neighbour of the Kunstmuseum Winterthur, which is also highly recommended to visit, one can go out to "Am Römerholz" at 15 – 20 minutes. You can also take the little museumsbus, which simply is a large taxi, and as running around between museums once per hour. It has been museumspas, the trip by bus for free. Oskar Reinhart purchased the Villa in 1924 and lived here for 40 years. -Villa with its beautiful space stands probably greatly as in Oskar Reinharts time, but the large extension, which contains a large hall "Picture Gallery" and five smaller rooms, was built in 1997 – 1998, by which the Museum's exhibition space was more than doubled. The exhibition begins with works by Dutch Renaissance artists: Gerard David, Jan Provost, Quentin Matsys, Lucas Cranach I, Pieter Bruegel I, Hans Holbein, Geertgen Tot sint Jans II, Jacopo Bassano, and some anonymous masters. In one of the adjacent room hangs the works of Jean-Siméon Chardin and Francisco de Goya. The Museum's extension offers an abundance of great mestres works: Philips Koninck, Jacob Jordaens, Frans Hals, John Constable, Jean-Francois Millet, Théodore Gericault, Nicolas Poussin, Claude Lorrain, Jean Auguste Dominique Ingrés, El Greco, Rubens and Jacques-Louis David, Delacroix, Honoré Daumier, Gustave Courbet, Camille Corot, Pissarro, Sisley, Cezanne, Gauguin, Renoir, van Gogh, Manet, Monet, Toulouse-Lautrec, and a youthful self-portrait of Picasso. When you have seen it sated on this impressive collection of pictures, you can relax in the Museum's small café or stroll in the beautiful park in front of the Villa. A visit to the "Am Römerholz" is an unforgettable experience. Of course it is natural also to visit Museum Oskar Reinhart and this museum's neighbor, Kunstmuseum Winterthur. In the latter museum there is also a very fine collection of Impressionist works more as well as pictures of van Gogh. Winterthur is a city with only just over 100,000 inhabitants, but as a museum city surpasses the many much larger cities. As art interested is a visit to Winterthur and the city's prestigious museums saved.

  • Private gallery located on the mountain at about ten minutes from the city-if bystrm step (or can be reached from the train station by bus, which runs about once an hour). Perfectly clean and glamorous Park, a wonderful house and very beautiful paintings (including unknown Renoir, Toulouse-Lautrec, Degas and many others). The picture picked up with great taste, in General remains very bright and spirited impression from visiting
