Multiple wedding per day are planned and make it fast. Also parking is disorganized, if several wedding ceremonies are scheduled directly against each other. There is also very fast Park buses (60 min, remained 66 min) for many guests, it was similar. Unfortunately this gives the impression that it is an easy way to earn the time frame... difficult to assess something, therefore tendeziell too much time to solve.show original
A small little castle. Weep maintained and not over loaded with stuff. Nice things to watch and also for the kids interesting.
We walked to the castle from the train station. We followed the yellow "Wanderweg" signs to the water, which took us past 2 very nice play areas. It was nice to stop and let the kids play, which broke... read more »
It's quite compact, but very pretty and reasonably interesting. The staff were very friendly and helpful. And they do a nice cup of tea at the cafe!
Nice little castle with a cute little garden and a little chapel
No gift shoppe. They did not accept diners club nor travellers chex. Would not recommend.
I give this castle 5 stars due to the incredible location and scenery, the reconstruction of medieval life within the tower rooms and the original decor of some of the later period rooms. Fascinating in particular is the contemporary graffiti of knights at a tournament in one of the tower rooms. It doesn't have the scale of a major castle and isn't majorly impressive from outside but once you've made your way up through all the well presented rooms displaying many interesting artefacts and pieces of art, and are at the top of the tower looking over thunersee towards the Alps, you realise how worthwhile and good value (10fr) the visit was. You also have the ancient church in the castle grounds of which parts of date to around 700ad. If you appreciate history and great views make the time to visit.
We had our wedding on the little chapel, organ playing. A wonderful location by the lake, with a pretty flower garden, a short walk from the boat pier.
