  • Panoramic route "Glacier Express" ("Glacier Express") connects two world-renowned Swiss resort Mountain-St. Moritz in the Swiss canton of Graubünden and Zermatt in the canton of Valais. "Glacier Express" is advertised as "the slowest express train in the world", and indeed it is-291 km train runs for about 8:00. The path train bypasses 291 bridge and viaduct, as well as 91 tunnel and rises to the Oberal'p pass (Oberalppass, height of 2033 m above sea level). The route passes through is included in UNESCO's world heritage railway Al'buly landscape, famous for its viaducts. It is worth to go that route just to admire the works of Swiss railway and mining engineers and workers. Among the many attractions that can be observed during the journey should be set aside and the Rhine Canyon (the Swiss equivalent of the American Grand Canyon). First-class cars (subject to prior booking of seats, if not the book, it is may be that all the seats on the train will be busy Japanese tourists) are equipped with panoramic Windows. (But if you don't like taking pictures through glass and want to save a little-you can take a ticket in second class wagon, in which a window opens.) First class carriages during the journey for lunch (price, depending on a set of dishes, 30.43 Swiss francs). The train sold souvenirs, such as glass on curved leg (assuming that the bending must compensate for the inclination of the wagon train when manoeuvring the stroller up and down a mountain path and align the level of it poured wine). Tickets for the full route from St. Moritz to Cura is quite high-153 (class 2) or 269 (class 1) Swiss francs (but there is good news-the whole route operates Swiss Travel Pass, and his owners have to pay only for booking seats). Surcharge for booking places ranges from 13 to 33 Swiss francs, depending on the season. And if the money or time to travel on the full route you do not have enough, you can drive only one part of it, for example, from St. Moritz to Kura. And most economical may reproduce this journey-but without the corresponding comfort, on ordinary trains (with transfers). Summary: wonderful route for train lovers of romance and beautiful views.

  • As indicated in the title of my review, and as I've been repeating since I got off at the station end of the tour, words or pictures or footage can express the meaning this trip ... Just the photos, with the advances and technological limitations we have nowadays realize the colors and curves and volumes and of all the wonders that you'll see! I looked at everything, mountains, kitties, little houses, villages, cabritas, snow, Woods, and seemed a dream, something between the setting of the children's book Heidi (Swiss Alps, precisely placed) and the County of Hobbits of Tolkien ... for me, it was simply the materialization of my beauty sleeps for a scenario, and the many hours of walk (we took the train in Chur until some 8 hours should be given Zermatt) simply spent flying for me. I highly recommend. We had the Swiss Pass, but even with it, it was necessary to pay for the reservation of seats (we do not need to book in almost no other travel, usually just go in, sit down and wait for the fiscal that will check your swiss pass), but, on this train booking is compulsory and well salted. If you want, book with lunch (we didn't want to, bring our own snacks and fine, don't be ashamed). The train makes several stops fast and you can come down to spy out there. At some stops, as he rises, life is cold. Indescribable when the train reaches where there is snow ... hear cheers in every language, lol, even nationalities used to snow.

  • Beautiful experience. Loved the view.this was the first touristy thing we did once we landed Switzerland and gave really an amazing insight to the beautiful country
  • Lifetime experience, magnificent train, views and surroundings. Love all the journey from Chur to Zermatt
  • It's fantastic route between Zermatt to St.Moritz even 8 hours, not boring. If you have time enough, don't forget to reserve a seat in right side for the better view of scenic.
  • Spectacular view
