Fondation Beyeler, Riehen
Categories: Specialty Museums, Museums
Fondation Beyeler operates the museum that owns and exhibits the art collection of the late Ernst and Hildy Beyler. The husband-and-wife couple amassed a large collection of modern classics during their lifetimes. A highlight of the museum is the collection of 23 pieces by Pablo Picasso; the museum also features works by Claude Monet, Vincent van Gogh, and Andy Warhol. The Beyelers created the foundation and museum to house their substantial art collection and provide public access to the pieces. The museum's glazed building sits nestled in Berowerpark, where special exhibits periodically take place. Fondation Beyeler is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our international travel planner, Riehen Edition.

Very nice exhibition, with some very famous artists. The building, designed by the famous architect Renzo Piano, is beautiful.
Throughout the year great exhibitions! If you live art it is a must do while you are in Basel. Also it is a chance to the the 'rural' part of Basels border.
Lovely grounds, impressive collection and terrific exhibits...but the harsh lighting does them no favors. A few of the staff are rather snooty.
Must see museum. One of the three top spots for art in Basel. Recently ranked among the top 100 Museums in the world by the Times.
Basically one of the best museums ever. Especially the special exhibitions are always worth a visit.
