  • A beautiful medieval castle going back to the dukes of Rapperswil, later the Habsburger. The Castle and the old town played a important role in Switzerland. Later the town was related to Switzerland a...  more »
  • You can already see Rapperswil Castle (built in the 13th century) from some distance away. If you arrive by car used either the A3 and goes then through the dam or through the Seestrasse in direction of Rapperswil by Stäfa. There are plenty of parking (please use the correct parking, private can be very fast, very expensive = oS). The smart travels in the course and so is advisable here not the quick two (S5 / S15) but the 'slow' S7, which meanders along the Lake. From Rapperswil railway station or one of the surrounding car parks it then goes through the old town to the main square, the stairs up to the entrance of the castle wall. Once it has passed the entrance, large and small on the right can be seen a lot of stones. Much fun ever. Once you located in the Castle courtyard the already often circumscribed view opens up a small playground, the Deer Park and of course the Castle (Yes, it's really great!). The castle is home to the Poland Museum. In the castle can be married also, so every now and then a wedding party is found. It is worth to take a different path down from the Castle. was it over to the Lake down through the vineyards of the monks in the rose garden or the deer enclosure. The old town is also very interesting, if you are interested in the design. Who says not to, stroll in the old town the small shops along and found maybe one or the other jewel.

  • Rapperswil Castle (Schloss Rapperswil) perched atop a longish rocky hill is located in the municipality Rapperswil-Jona, built in the early 13th century AD by the House of Rapperswil in the former independent city of Rapperswil. Each corner of the castle is reinforced with a tower.
  • The castle has amazing views - especially at sunset. There is also a restaurant, church, and museum worth visiting.
  • Great scenic overlook. Nice playground for kids nearby.
  • Beautiful Castle with a view on the Zurich lake and the Alps. Perfect to cast weddings or special events.
  • Fun castle on the lake
