We were in the Museum and in the kennel located on colle del gran san Bernardo in Switzerland! You pay a little dear, but also take the euro and there is no need to change currency. As they say in many, it is true that dogs are in pens, but many do not know that these dogs do not need much space (I say this from personal experience), it is important for them to be close to us humans ... The museum itself is nice, but the encounter with the Saint Bernard is beautiful. Leave one off the fences, with a close person that controls, available to stroking and photos! You can also, paying, go for a walk with one of the dogs on a leash! In the Museum there is the story of Barry, Saint Bernard dog, who under Napoleon alone saved the lives of more than 50 people!

Place to visit if you are interested in the St Bernard dogs. Fair price, in 2 hours you have seen everything and well learned about this typical Swiss dog breed.

If you think you see Frolic Saint Bernard dogs, go your way. We have seen in all 6 or 7 dogs, each sleeping-legged"closed" in her enclosure. Well, we learned that the St. Bernard sleep 20 hours a day. And they are awake for the walk (not visible) or meals. A dog came out of his enclosure every 90 minutes to be petted by children. It does move a bit... The rest of the expo, it's BRIC to brac, nothing to do with these poor dogs

  • A museum dedicated to the legacy of the breed St. Barnard and their contribution to the culture of Switzerland. The facility has a lot of pictures, tableau, portraits and other items which educate you about the St. Barnards. It is a fulfilling and enriching experience. The highlight of the entire visit is of course the St. Barnards housed in the facility itself, which are available for ptting and feeding. Overall, the experience is very nice.
  • I am so deeply dissapointed of this museum. My favourite breed of dogs is Saint Bernard, and I was really excited to go to a place totally dedicated to them. Thank God I did not pay anything because the ticket was included in my swiss travel pass, but it was a waste of time of effort to go to a place where all the dogs are put in boring rooms. You see the boredom in their eyes. And they have every half an hour to pet ONE dog. The poor dog looked drugged... and it didn't felt good to go and pet him when like 20 persons where doing it. I dont recommend this place at all. And I did not even pay.
  • Small museum. Adorable dogs.
  • A great little museum-well worth the stop on your way through the mountains! I absolutely loved it, the small museum was very interesting even if it is all in French (they offer English translations in a pamphlet that you return to the main desk when finished), very informative. Also being able to see the dogs and pet them!! Totally makes this one of my favorite things in Switzerland!
  • We were a bit disappointed that there were no puppies at the centre when we visited. They had a big TV showing a low quality web cam image of a new litter of 9 puppies that will be at the centre from the end of September 2016. We got to meet some of the adult dogs which are impressive animals - at ~60-70kg, they are heavier than a typical adult woman. Upstairs there is a very thorough exhibition about the Grand St. Bernard pass. It treats every aspect of the history of the pass and the dogs. The layout is a bit confusing but there is no lack of information. Overall, it's a bit expensive (12SF) for what it is, but you are supporting the dogs.
