  • Unfortunately the village and other attractions where closed. Only open from 15 March to 15 Nov. travel from Zurich HB tot Maiendorf. Then walk the Heidi route to the village, 20-30 min. Stunning view...  more »

  • Maienfeld is a typical village in the Swiss Alps. Heidi was born here under the pen of Johanna Spyri. Visitors enter the time at which this story was created. The path leads home of Heidi and the Alp through idyllic landscapes. We most appreciated vineyards than the village itself. Nice wine trails promise for beautiful walks. The shadow of our childhood cartoons hovered over our heads and the song of Heidi to reasoned in our ears.

  • If you are a fan of Heidi, this olace must be on your wish list and willing to spend a few hours hiking up to the Heididorf for the overlook view of Maienfeld. Be careful at the last session of the Heididorf Trail when you are heading back to the station where you may lose your way due to the hidden track.
  • It's a nice day out, but since Heidi is a fictional character, what you see it's a recreation of how people would live at that time, not really how Heidi's grandpa hut would be. If you do the whole trail, you'll see a nice scenery and the cute little town of Maiensfeld, but be careful with the part from Heidihoff to the Heidi fountain, the trail is not well marked and it goes right through the forest.
  • Nice little replica village of how life was like during the time of Heidi's character
  • Love Heidi story. The place is suburb. Shows how in the olden days they were living.
  • Very worthy to see if you are the fan of Heidi.
