Parco Civico, Lugano
Categories: Nature & Parks
Take a stroll through Parco Civico, Lugano's major green space. The park covers 6.3 hectares (15.6 acres), so you can explore extensively without retracing your steps. Discover paths lined with statues and fountains amidst the meticulously kept English lawn. The park is divided into two sections: one features Italian and English gardens, with manicured flower beds and tree species from around the world, while the other is more wild, with a forest of oak, lime, plane, and maple trees. This area also houses the natural history museum and a convention center. Arrange to visit Parco Civico and other attractions in Lugano using our Lugano travel itinerary maker.

Beautiful lakeside park with many interesting sculptures and lots of colourful flowers. The only detractor being the amount of graffiti on benches, buildings etc. I don't speak Italian (or Swiss Italian) but it mostly seemed to be anti political and anti police slogans which made me think it's probably not a hugely safe park to walk around at night. I feel I should also note that whilst I was very glad there were public toilets in the park, they were extremely grim. They were small, claustrophobic metal cubicles. Malodorous is an understatement.
Beautiful and a really well maintained park with a lakeside promenade, play area and a public beach. However, the best experience of the day was the artist strumming some john lenon and pink floyd numbers.
