Monte San Salvatore, Lugano
(4.7/5 based on 650+ reviews on the web)
Stand on the top of Lugano at Monte San Salvatore for panoramic views of the city and the calm blue lake surrounding it. To reach the top, hike or hop on the funicular, which operates seasonally. Stop for a bite at the restaurant at the summit to take advantage of the impressive views from the veranda. You'll find the best vistas from the top of the church, but it's a significant climb. Information tablets identify the surrounding mountains, so you'll be able to tell when you're looking at the legendary Matterhorn. Plan your visit to Monte San Salvatore and a wealth of other attractions, well-known and undiscovered, using our Lugano vacation route planner.

  • Unfortunately, it is not possible to go to China because it is on private land. You may park along some sights that offer a wonderful life on the Lake.

  • We start talking about the prezzi....la funicular roundtrip costs 40 €. My advice is this ... If you have the opportunity to take a ticket one way, and then walk down would save. I admit that is not short the path, but it is an experience and well worth it. Got to the top of the mountain, the show that you have before your eyes is priceless. So I highly recommend going there at least once in their lifetime. On top, there is also a ristorante\bar.. the prices are pretty high, so a packed lunch advice for families, being the most numerous or, for those who want to save money. Backtracking would bring them too! Otherwise, the food is very good! For the more adventurous who want to walk, I can tell you from what I have seen that is very exhausting but once you reach the top, their efforts will be rewarded!

  • this mountain with an altitude of 912 meters funicular can exit with. Funicular which was built in 1890. Views of Lake Lugano and the top of the mountain is very beautiful. I suggest you go necessarily.
