Inspirock Rating:
4.7/5 based on 2,000 reviews on the web
Protected by low mountain ranges, the glacial Lake Lugano features its own Mediterranean microclimate, warm enough to encourage the growth of citrus and palm trees. The lake sits on the border between northern Italy and southern Switzerland, an area rich in diverse plant life and fossils from prehistoric times. Lugano, a Swiss resort town with a decidedly Italian flavor, serves as a convenient base for sightseeing tours of the mountain-rimmed lake region. Get to know the area quickly by joining a guided boat ride along the lake's picturesque shores, or take the funicular to one of the surrounding mountaintops. • This is a very nice lake. We took the boat ride to Gandria and the experience was extremely nice. If you are traveling to Lugano then must try the boat ride.
  • We spent a short holiday in Lugano with our daughter and the two grandchildren. Unfortunately, the weather was not too intoxicating. Despite rainy weather, we made a trip still Morcote. We enjoyed the ride on the Lake, it is to do something different in rainy weather a boat trip. In Morcote, we got out and visited there beautiful Ticino village with narrow streets and the beautiful church. No wonder referred to it as the most beautiful village in the Switzerland.

  • Great place to visit, not the cheapest place in Switzerland for sure, but a place to visit, easy to enjoy the sights.
