Lucerne Culture and Congress Centre, Lucerne

4.6
Marvel at the innovative architecture and one of the finest concert halls in the world at Lucerne Culture and Congress Centre. Construction began in 1995 under the direction of Parisian architect Jean Nouvel. The complex houses a multifunctional hall, a convention center, and a world-renowned concert hall with exceptional acoustics. The three unique buildings are lined up like ships in a harbor, all covered by the distinctive "magical" roof. Take a tour through the center to discover its other architectural nuances--including water from the neighboring lake, which is channeled through all three spaces. Put Lucerne Culture and Congress Centre into our Lucerne road trip planning website and find out what's close by, where to stay, and where to head next.

  • Unfortunately I don't have much to say, with the Guide and friends we looking within, appreciating very little, not having much time booking program, outside the Guide gave us some guidance, the magnificence of the Palace of culture, environments used for concerts, theatre, various culture, where all important events take place at this very modern complex designed by Nouvel (if I remember correctly) unique Palace for its sonority and conception; However, the guide was saying that it is worth visiting.

  • Right on the Lake Lucerne. The service was good and so was the food. Pricey but what in Switzerland isnt  more »
  • Located near Lucerne station building is the art gallery, concert hall, etc.. In that I didn't use those facilities, a famous architect who designed mainly enjoyed the appearance. Even in the tourist area of Lucerne City Classic very, very familiar to the city or the Lake was a very strange feeling. I would enjoy 10 minutes even without entering in anyone who likes building seen from the outside. If you happen to have heard the acoustics of the concert hall is very nice and also because I like went to concerts.

  • Amazing architecture! It's worth taking a guided tour to learn about all the interesting details of this amazing construction.
  • It is a culture centre. Food and drink here is not cheap. Toilets are hard to find.
  • Modern structure in a great position by the lake. Amazing acoustic for concerts

Where to stay in Lucerne

Small, historical Lucerne is big in its accommodation offerings. Surrounding the bay are plenty of mid-range and upscale hotels for those looking to splurge, putting you right downtown with easy access to sights, bars, and restaurants. If your budget is tight, look into the handful of guesthouses in the city. There are limited hostels available, and they tend to be a bit farther from the city core. Be sure to book in advance to avoid missing out.
