  • If you stay as a tourist with limited time in Lucerne, a visit to this museum is not a real inspection requirement. Seen the exhibits distributed on 3 floors all already somewhere else. Much is very arbitrary and some acts almost like a cluttered Department of a brocken House. I was really interested in the extensive coin collection. All the coins are marked with a bar code scans and then can you well increases the coins on the screen and view with textual explanations. Many exhibits are interesting for children, perhaps even more than for adults. This museum in all cases is a good bad weather program.

  • The Museum on the history of Lucerne is very rich. He has since objects of prehistory beyond the middle ages and modern age. The visit is made with a handheld computer. Each object has a barcode that can be scanned and the information appears on the screen in English or German. The collection is huge, however as the space is not large many are within the same panel. Recommend the visit as it has elements that will be of interest to various audiences because there are displayed spearheads, vases, armor, guillotines, models, clothes, toys, etc.

  • I can speak only from my personal opinion. All exhibits are equipped with bar codes, which they then scans with a PDA. Actually a great thing, but: it would be easier if a title would be on the bar code. At a showcase with 10 exhibits and 10 bar codes, you must first find the correct bar code to get the info. We do not know, which bar code belongs to which exhibit. So no more relaxed museum visit is possible.

  • Geschichte zum selber scannen. Kleine Scanner informieren Besucher über Hintergründe der Gegenstände.

  • The theatrical tours are recommended. Also, the special exhibitions are always love fully made. The permanent exhibitions may not tear but me from the stool.
