  • Actually, I thought while walking in "So 14.-CHF are pretty much for the entrance to a castle plus Museum". On the way out, I had to say "it was worth it". In addition to the generally nice and well-kept facility which could score points in addition to the views with a small fine garden, I found particularly worth seeing the Museum part. There, a curator has really much thought. The House showed on three floors, the world of three eras. (My tip from bottom to top, then can see one nice development.) Exhibitions on various topics, such as construction or youth/education in the middle ages were in the adjacent buildings. The prison cells were very impressive. For younger visitors, there was a kind of scavenger hunt, which playfully runs through the history of creative opportunities for painting, handicrafts and building and larger small. If you're planning a trip here, should observe the opening hours. The facility for visitors is closed in the winter.

  • A vast castle above the town. An ongoing basis various events take place. The multimedia show is interesting. A hit is very much available also for children!

  • We visited this castle with our 7 and 9 year old children. We decided to walk up to the castle, which was a bit of a hike, but fun family affair. We enjoyed the views of the area once we were up there...  more »

  • Beautiful castle, landscapes. Interesting history ownership by the Bern municipality. Nice for children ... if they know German.
  • This was a fabulous castle to visit. So much for our daughters to do, interactive stations, fabulous rooms set up with volunteers even cooking in the kitchen! There was a kids museum with play castle for pretend play, play kitchen, reading corner, dress ups, displays and enclosed toddler play area. And a fabulous crafting area which my 6yr old didn't want to leave. There were picnic tables outside if you brought your own food and a great simple cafe with hotdogs, salads, soup, cakes and drinks. Beautiful little gardens and amazing views from the castle. Kids loved dropping bucket of water from fountain down the well, hearing it drop a long time afterwards. Will definitely be back lots. We went June 2016 and warm sunny and on off showers.
  • The castle is a very family friendly place. Interesting Wohnung Museum, but what we truly enjoyed was the Kinder Museum. As a parent you can sit, relax and let the children play.
  • Very well maintained castle, lots to see and learn. It is set up more like a museum, where you can read about the history. Expect to stay around three hours. The Sommerfest in July is recommended.
  • The museum has rooms with soundtracks recreating historical atmosphere: people talking, kitchen sounds, etc. Very cool.
