  • Affectionately staged Museum and a great concept (yet) to bring its visitors the Tolkien universe. A wonderfully idyllic garden entering the faithfully reconstructed Hobbit-cave, where Bernd Greisinger greeted us. It is an experience of the Builder and spiritual father of this unique museum collection to be led. Actually, I had the feeling to know me already a little with Tolkien's stories, was disabused but during the leadership: not only the incredible number of accessories from the movies, valuable books, sculptures, images, exhibits, enthusiastically but also the comprehensive knowledge of our museum guide, eloquent, funny and sympathetic shares with its guests. There is also enough time to ask questions and discuss. Therefore also must schedule enough time: 3.5 hours were budgeted for the leadership - ours lasted 5.5 hours! It is long on the legs and over hours as a listener wants to remain attentive, the leadership of less for small children is suitable. Supposed fun to visit this Museum, it is essential that you love Tolkien and his stories about Middle-Earth and is really interested in. Otherwise a such intensive management is likely to become an ordeal. Is but as a fan, I can warmly recommend a visit to Middle-Earth. The hours are well invested and make you want to resolve any still existing gaps in Tolkien ;))

  • Bert is a very nice person, and he certainly knows a tremendous amount of Trivia. If you are not familiar with German culture, you may find him off-putting. He scolds frequently-- for example, he does...  more »
  • We have visited the Museum with a group of about 12 people, including three children and by the master, Bernd Greisinger, höch ster personally get a lead. What Mr Greisinger here built up with great attention to detail is very impressive. Each large Middle-Earth fan comes here on its cost and if you have still questions, get certainly correctly answered to the last detail. However turned the lead as very long winded. According to homepage 2-3 h would have been planned. We had to unfortunately cancel the lead after 5h floor, without a drink of water and nothing to eat. Also, Mr Greisinger has stressed that he wants to teach something to the people. Nevertheless I felt often plain stupid, because my knowledge is not as comprehensive as the his. It is unclear whether it was arrogance or ineptitude, it was not nice in any case. On the whole, it is recommended, but only for hard melted Tolkien/Middle-Earth fans and not for children. (I have read though that other men make the leadership – maybe it is "better", that is suitable also for laymen and kid?)
