  • In short: the Museum is lovingly decorated and includes featured paintings, props and books about the world of Tolkien. The lead is much too long with 5 hours without a break in the mostly underground, narrow spaces and is unfortunately rather torturous as the fun even for die-hard Tolkienfans. Detailed report: full of anticipation, I visited been the Greisinger Museum as a large Tolkienfan with my boyfriend on a Saturday afternoon. Inside, the Museum is not only the garden and the exterior, lovingly designed and already alone by the architecture an experience for all of the rings fans Mr. Curious, we entered the Hobbit hole and were greeted by the proud Museum owner Mr Greisinger. The anticipation and curiosity about the Museum was marred however already in his two-hour introduction about all background to Tolkien. It was a warm spring day and after the first hour in the narrow, stifling first room of the Museum, without possibility of free to look around - because the room with 15 visitors is filled - were all so exhausted that they were on the ground. That however not impressed the Museum owner, he told continued briskly an hour until they could finally enter the Museum. Through his unfortunately overbearing, instructive way with which he gladly merely provides the visitors about their ignorance, it's not easy one so long to listen to him. His knowledge is indeed sound and most exciting, but would be desirable more modesty and sense of time. This was followed by 3 more hours through the narrow rooms where you repeatedly was admonished not to close to the images. What difficult turned out at the number of people in relation to the size of the room. After the 5-hour tour, in which Mr Greisinger talked without point and comma and there was hardly space for questions or simple viewing of museum pieces, ended a visit to the club room, where the visitors collapsed exhausted on the drinks.

  • The Museum was just great. The ambience with the entrance in the Hobbit hole in the garden surrounded by mountains and vineyards was simply gorgeous. What I myself was very happy, photography was allowed in the museum itself. Our tour was almost 6 hours, with most in the stand / was. So anyone who has problems with long stand has, is here. Having trouble. Mr Greisinger allowed us so deeply immersed in Middle-Earth, that I completely forgot the time and I am become are not tired from the long. Mr Greisinger is a super guy with great character. His sense of humour was told to immediately :-) Any of the Middle-Earth like should be sure to visit the Museum.
