#1 of 97 in Parks in Canton of Bern
The snowy slopes of Harderkulm overlook the town of Interlaken, offering extensive views stretching all the way to the high peaks of west Switzerland's mountain ranges. The easiest way to get a taste of those distant Alpine giants without having to gear up for a serious hike is to take the funicular to this 1,322 m (4,337 ft) summit. Or, if you feel up for a challenge and have the right kind of shoes, climb up the mountain on foot and take the railway back into town. Before you hurry down, visit the summit's castle-like restaurant and take a few snapshots from the lofty viewing platform extending over the side of the mountain. • The flat top was really quite nice, you can start the restaurant. The cozy was the way, which is quite flat at the beginning / looks. So not "steep" restaurant, but the other way. The restaurant was quite nice, with a top view. Where to tour more often times would have the chance, to eat a snack on a bench.

  • At the train station for a very minute, take a very round of cables, about every half of the time to do another. On the observation deck, you can look at a few peaks and two lakes.

  • Already reaching the top is exciting with their funicular that makes a difference of approximately 1000 meters in 10 minutes. Above the scenery is lovely with deck and bar which features chairs that make you forget the world

  • a fantastic place overseeing the beautiful twin lakes of interlaken. after so many hill tops you feel you have seen everything. but this still has something different and new to offer. not being covered in the pass is a disappointment though. also climate changes very quickly and if it's cloudy you hardly see anything down. but a clear weather gives a wide view of the scenic surroundings
  • One of the best view in Interlaken , fro. Harderkulm one can see 2 lakes.the train takes you to the mountain is one of the fastest steep train
  • Walk along the river to harder kulm station.. get the train up to the top. Beautiful view of the two lakes!
  • Gives a birds eye view of Interlaken, very scenic, must see place in Interlaken.
  • Harder Kulm was our first discovery in Interlaken. We arrived in Interlaken with lots of daylight left. So, we dropped off our luggage at the hotel and chatted with the reception staff. We asked about places to visit and the man suggested Harder Kulm. Interlaken felt a little disorienting, but he gave us directions by bus and it was quite easy from there. We could see the Harder Kulm mountains and lots of paragliders from the bus stop. Luckily, it was a nice sunny afternoon ! Arriving at Harder Kulm, we needed to get Funicular tickets to go up, which cost us around $60 Canadian. For starters, Switzerland is not a cheap place to visit and Interlaken is no different. Although the ride felt expensive, it was well equipped with huge glass windows all the way around. This gave us the opportunity to have an amazing view all the way up the mountain. Arriving at the top, there is a trail which leads to a panoramic restaurant. It's really cool because you can have a drink or food, hot chocolate for example on the balcony overlooking the mountains and lakes of the region. At the top of the mountain, it's one stunning view after another ! If you don't care about the restaurant and your idea is only to get a nice view of Interlaken, you should head to the V shaped viewpoint. You'll know that you're on the right deck if you see a random statue of a cow near the edge. This is the ultimate viewpoint and it offers amazing views of Interlaken, the valley, mountains and rivers around. According to Wikipedia, Harder Kulm is a viewpoint at 1,321 metres (4,334 ft) in altitude. Located in the Berner Oberland region of Switzerland, overlooking the towns of Interlaken and Unterseen. In case you didn't already know, Interlaken stands for between lakes. Because the town is right in the middle of two lakes. Our Ratings Serge: 5 Eli: 5 Recommend: Yes, really beautiful views across Interlaken and a great way to explore the city. Tips: 1. We visited Harder Kulm during spring, and even though it was a nice afternoon (around 16oC) in Interlaken city, it felt much colder at the top of the mountain. Make sure to bring a warm jacket. 2. We felt the restaurant was on the expensive side. But if you the budget for at least a hot chocolate it’s worth to sit down, relax and get an amazing panoramic view. 3. The funicular accepts Credit cards, just check the opening and closing times on their website. When we left at the end of the afternoon they were almost closing. This way you leave yourself ample time.
