Create an itinerary including Faulhorn
Hike to the rounded peak of Faulhorn and admire the rugged scenery of the snowcapped Bernese Alps. Several trails wind their way to the 2,681 m (8,796 ft) summit. At the top, take in sweeping views of the surrounding mountains and Lake Thurne below. Stop in the well-known hotel at the summit, where you can reward yourself with a fortifying meal. The ascent requires a decent level of fitness, but the well-preserved trail won't present any great challenge to experienced hikers. • We stopped here for lunch while on our hike from Schynige Platte to First. It was super packed on a summer weekday and we had to wait a little to get a table. The view is awesome. The food is pretty standard for mountain huts. We were served very promptly. Would have been a much better experience if it wasn’t so crowded and noisy.
  • Fantastic path, views starting from first steps out of the train
  • Amazing views and hike including the lakes
  • A fairly easy hike to a quaint village to the top of Faulhorn. The view from the top is absolutely breathtaking as you get to look down to Interlaken and the Brienzersee lake! In the winter, climbing up and be a bit of a challenge as the path is covered entirely in ankle deep (or deeper) snow. If you've got the strength and endurance, do bring along a sledge in winter so you can experience the longest and most scenic sledge run in the world!
  • A dust of snow was covered the trails, but it was still easy to walk without crampons. Bring hiking sticks with you. It is absolutely worth it to check! One of the best Switzerland trails you can experience and also it is not too demanding by novices as well. Those pics were taken on 17. Sept 2017. Have a pleasant trip!
