  • the premises are for grilling (there are of the barbecus all along) and beaches for sunbathing. Until the crowd arrived for lunch, because the lunch, the afternoon and evening it's black world. But it's really worth. see the arve and the Rhône meet and train this Rhône that we will see ours in arles... Impressive to say to our friends ' but if I swear, the rhone, initially it is super clear, you will bathe "elsewhere the swim: is the top... back until the water with buoy, inflatable boat... we are thrown into the water and let go with the flow of the rhone until the last Bank." to do at least once in his life. attention, not advise children... it is not monitored!

  • Full of world, barbecues everywhere, the detritus left abandoned in the early morning and the noise... throughout the evening and even at night! I pity the people who live in the surrounding and needing to rest... It's crazy that the Geneva police leave this situation like this! I do not do not take advantage of the edges of the Rhone but until 10 p.m., history that nearby residents can have a quiet night if it is not their evening...

  • it is being rebuilt better/wider and hopefully will be open in November 2017, unfortunately I did not have time to go to the island to view, so missed it in the end.  more »

  • Nice place to relax. The ambiance is mixed , with different groups of nationalities meeting up for bar-b-q's .picnics etc.
  • Funky atmosphere. I was there in august, bar was open. Very down to earth.
  • Great place, finally something that does not seem to be under the governments scrutiny for now.. Reminds one a little bit of berlin vibes by the river. It has more potential however.
  • A great place where the Rhône and the Arve join. The waters have different colors so it is a curious phenomenon. During summer the place around is really crowded with people jumping in the river and letting them go in the flow. There is a little bar with some music here too. But there is not too much place here to stay so when it is crowded it is hard to find some place to sit or sun bath. During summer that is a good place for barbecues too.
  • What an ugly piece of street. Ugly latino immigrants filling up their fat bellies while annoying everybody with their super loud hi-fi 100000 watt musicboxes. The whole neighbourhood stinks due to their over excessive grill parties. Why do we have to accept it?

Where to stay in Geneva

In the elegant city of Geneva, a little shuteye doesn't come cheap. A number of relatively expensive hotels surround the lakefront, a prime location for visitors here; note that these tend to fill up for conferences and trade shows, so plan accordingly. More budget-minded travelers can look into options closer to the airport, which is a quick 15-minute ride on public transport into the city. While there a very few family-owned guesthouses and hotels, there are a handful of hostels--though these too are priced pretty steep. You can also find more affordable options in the outlying cities of Annemasse and Gaillard.
