Stroll through UNESCO-Altstadt von Bern, a World Heritage Site with arcaded walkways arranged along streets dotted with hundreds of public fountains. Although most of its structures underwent massive restoration in the 18th century, the old neighborhood retains much of its original layout and character. Home to Switzerland's tallest cathedral, the atmospheric Old Town stretches along a U-shaped peninsula, surrounded on three sides by the Aare River. Begin your walk through medieval Bern at the Old Town's landmark clock tower, featuring one of the world's earliest examples of animatronic technology. To see what the locals call "the longest running act in show biz," stand in front of the clock on the hour. • Bern, capital of Switzerland, is a historic, unique in style! The architecture is amazing, adapted to guarantee the safety and protection to its residents. Has several points of interest, such as the Museum of Albert Einstein, who lived in the city from 1902 to 1909; the astronomical clock, the Cathedral, the Belvedere and the Bears. I loved knowing a little of the city!

  • You must have seen the old town of Berne and some time you should bring already for that. Ideal Ausgangspunkkt for car drivers is the car park of the Casino - admittedly not just cheap. From there, the round trip through the Kochergasse Federal square, begins on the bear space. The prison Tower through the market Street possibility to reach the clock tower. He continues flatly along the Kramgasse and Gerechtigkeitsgasse with arcades and countless shops of the Nydeggbrücke bear Park, to pay a visit to the Bernese bear there. Back, you can walk on the River Aare or via Junker lane visit still the Münster. Take your time!

  • Amazing!! Loved the cobblestone-laden quarter with lots of interesting sites. Commanding drinking fountains with sculptures whose art is uniquely Bernese pepper the area. Architecture is well-preserved. Lots of restaurants and plazas where people gather. The place is so alive.
  • Beautiful streets with porticos and shops all along, many below street level. It looks amazing both during a sunny afternoon and at night.
  • Amazing to see the blend of old and new as you walk down the cobblestone street or through the arcades flanking it. Head all the way down towards the river and be rewarded with some lovely views back over the town.
