  • Easy to reach on the #36 bus and what a perfect place. We were expecting a small animal farm with the usual domestic/farm animals. However the first thing that strikes you are the huge cranes flying a...  more »

  • Small free zoo featuring local animals as opposed to Zoo Basel featuring 'exotic' animals. Also has a garden section showcasing local agricultural plants. Financed by donations so no admission fee.
  • A free zoo. The special thing is it is all about local animals or animals that used to be living around Basel. Entry is free but you can and should leave something in the little collection stations. For me the highlight are the lynx and owls but I'm sure you will find plenty. Even if you are not interested in the animals, it is great for just a walk. On Sundays there is pony riding for the kids.
  • Loved it. Great place to bring a family and it's free. What is better than that!
  • Features lots of local as well as a few more exotic animals, all at no cost. The exhibits are mostly quite nice, and the surrounding area is beautiful too.
  • Beautiful landscape and river to sit in as it's not deep enough for actual swoäimming but perfect to freshen up.
