  • The church was closed on the two occasions we went to the square. There was a market on one day and it was interesting to see what people were selling.
  • Very close to the Centre at the former prison a peaceful place without running the risk right of arrest. There restaurant and hotel.

  • Already around 800, there was a church here, the present Church dates from the end of the 1300 century. The Church has been Gospel since 1529 the Church's interior is two-fold: to get first into the so-called "Leutkirche", a very special space, a Basilica with a high nave and two smaller parallel lying aisles, but the three ships are largely separated only by a few, diet pills. Additional string is an archway on all sides of the room, and over the Archway there pulpits all around. At the loft in the middle of the Church toward the next room, the Church's choir, stands the organ, an instrument that was originally built by Andreas Silbermann. Since this organ was built in 1968, most of the old pipes are recycled. You can continue into the choir and also visit the Marienkapelle Chapel and MArtinskapelle. Both here and in Leutkirche there is a share exciting murals from 1300 – 1500 century. Among other things, a manufacture of the Annunciation, where God the father to be seen at the top. He has three faces in his head! Peterskirche in Basel is one of the city's most exciting churches, and are you interested in ecclesiastical art and history, a visit to the Peterskirche must be high up on your list of sights to be seen.
