The Music Museum of the Basel History Museum in the former Lohnhof prison houses Switzerland’s largest collection of musical instruments.The Music Museum is a heritage site of national significance. It was opened in 2000 and presents five centuries of music history with three areas of emphasis: 650 instruments from the 16th to 20th Centuries; concerts, choral music and dance; parades, festivals and signals. Visitors can also hear how the instruments sound via a multimedia information system.

  • The intriguing thing about this museum is located in a former prison is a chance not only to see the different and beautiful instruments but also to hear them play through interactive columns in each room. I would no longer release

  • The Basel music Museum is housed in a building which, until 1995, the year was a prison. Here you can see almost seven hundred different musical instruments, which were used for making music for five centuries. The exhibits are housed in the former 24 prison cells on three floors. In the Museum there are on-screen interactive program by choosing from more than 200 music samples, you can get an idea of sounding instruments. The Museum is open from Wednesday to Saturday and the entrance to it is worth 12 francs.

  • Museum für Musik is súčastou Historisches Museum in Basel, Switzerland. Nachádze in the place called nachadzalo in the past where the Lohnhof prison. Collects and presents the largest collection of musical instruments in Switzerland. The Museum has been made available to the public in 2000.
