  • What surprised me most was the size of the roman city. If you go there prepare to walk a lot to see all the place.
  • Do not miss visiting the foundations of the theatre (below the small snack) with an explanatory film, no can no longer complete! Amazing work of the curator of this site. The Museum with the Roman House access is chargeable if the rest of the site is free.

  • Gorgeous set of old Roman town with an interesting Museum, with its amphitheatre. Beautiful fields.

  • This is such a peaceful place, love the walk, its very nicely maintained. Do not miss this attraction.
  • Augusta Raurica is one of those rare, beautiful historic sites you visit once or twice in a lifetime! Stunningly well preserved structures & a HUGE abundance of silver treasure were uncovered on this hilltop site. Great museum where English speakers were well catered for which is an all to common a rarity in Switzerland. I found it to be hugely educational & also incredibly serene but I did visit in February when it's likely at its least busy. Well worth the visit if old stuff is your bag!
  • A great underrated place around Basel. Beautifully preserved and not too touristy. You can engross yourself and spend hours to go into historic times. Lovely place to go on a biking trip form Basel city.
  • Very disappointing place. Almost nothing is left from these Roman Ruins, The amphitheater has been rebuilt mostly for concerts and it has lost all the sense of place after the restoration processes. I've visited other Roman ruins in Spain, Morocco, France, Italy and these are the worst I've ever been. Not worth the try at all!
  • What a humbling experience has been walking around this ruins!
