  • Great setting and acoustics. The old meets the new in a nice combination. Do not miss this ruin in Visby.

  • This is a nice ruin that proudly stands in a quaint small square. The ruin is made from the same attractive grey stone blocks that the city wall is made from and blends nicely with the more modern bui...  more »
  • Unfortunately during our quick visit in Central Visby were closed for hours but you can anyway be admired in all their Majesty from the main square of Visby. summer is a busy and lively square filled with people who obviously take advantage of tourist season filling to capacity their tables. Of course sometimes not pleasant this mixture of tourist business, culture and ancient art but then you can't live by Sun. Coming back precisely to these I admired very much what remains of the structures and I look very different from other European Churches visited, perhaps are the materials, the stones used are not expert on this subject but I had this feeling. In any case the whole historic centre of Visby and the walls that surround are worth a visit if you are in Sweden. Ferries don't cost a lot and out of peak periods nor is it difficult to find the place, I found a place in the days of the full "exodus" of the Swedes.
