  • The castle was closed when we were there but we walked around the Park, and to the lookout tower nearby. It is beautifully situated near the Lake and in the nature reserve. We visited the Church, located at the Castle and it was very nice and original paintings in the ceiling from the 1300 's. Read about the Castle and the Church, there are some ghost stories about the ghosts who go there. If you like such things, you should definitely visit these.

  • Angso Castle form a mighty Fund and the cool Avenue at the garden's edge is something to experience. Even when the castle is closed for visits "on the inside" so it is possible to take a walk in the surroundings, go through the Avenue and see where the King's horse to be buried. Ängsö is a great place to go on all year long, in a cultural landscape with good chance to see deer. There are marked trails, but watch out when the signs are sometimes unclear.
