The new headquarters of Uppsala University was inaugurated in 1887 by King Oscar II. The great Auditorium contains 1800 students. Today the building is used for lectures, concerts, conferences, academic ceremonies, including the awarding of the degrees. The Palace is surrounded by a park designed by Thore Fries, Professor of Botany and Vice-Chancellor of the University.

The building is currently rejuvenated and not open tourist visits. The option for you is to go near by and visit the place where the building of the first swidish university was once.  more »

  • Admission department is a joke and everyone is pushing the blame to someone else. Whoever that is recruiting is incapable of reading or understanding that Advanced Econometrics is the study of statistics therefore telling me I am unqualified because I don't have enough credits for statistics. You have to come out with a better excuse for your racism Uppsala University. I thought it was a reputable University and now I am glad I am not going there
  • One of the best universities in the world. Its also one of the oldest.
  • There is a professor of peace named Ashok Swain who writes lopsided articles about India and indian newspapers ! One star for hosting such pseudo-professors !
  • We spent the whole afternoon here, just walking around and enjoying the atmosphere. You can actually "hear" minds working. Gorgeous place
  • One of Sweden's most prestigious Universities having great education.

A number of hostels surround the city center, and proximity to the city center is key--the closer the better for exploring on foot all that the city has to offer.
