Uppsala Domkyrka, Uppsala
(4.4/5 based on 500+ reviews on the web)
See the tallest cathedral in Scandinavia and admire the twin Gothic spires of Uppsala Domkyrka. Situated between Uppsala University and River Fyris, the cathedral stands nearly 122 m (400 ft) tall. You will recognize the 13th-century structure by its rose-hued exterior. Tour the site, originally designed by French architects in the French-Gothic style, and view its impressive features, including its treasury museum and chapels. Though the structure was damaged in a fire in the 18th century, the church today has been completed restored to its former glory. • Christmas concert in 2016, huge Church, but centuries of hisoria. Now revamp and full of Christmas spirit. Now time for klasdisk Christmas concert with the choir of the Cathedral. Very good acoustics for music so that I can heartily recommend.

  • Old cathedral with the grave of Gustav Vasa. If you like churches, Uppsala Domkyrka is a beautiful one to visit.
  • One of the reasons for our visit to Uppsala, old university town near Stockholm, it was surely this Gothic Cathedral, a symbol of Uppsala, as headquarters of the Church of Sweden as well as being the largest church in Northern Europe and then a visit inside the we considered a must. We had maps, information and time. Closed marriage. Unheard of, the great cathedral, symbol of the Swedish Church closed for a private event.

  • Gorgeous architecture. You can only appreciate the beautiful details and feel tiny. Gustav Vasa is buried here.
  • Beautiful church and a nice café next doors with fresh salads and good coffee. Royal graves inside the church. Guided tours in many different languages are offered.
  • Beautiful architecture, wonderful cathedral! Must visit the tallest church in the Nordic countries.
  • Largest cathedral in Northern Europe. Amazing history.
  • Above average for a church. Tomb of Gustav Vasa is worth a visir
