  • Found here in spring when there was little market and activities in town. Great places to visit especially if you have grandchildren! Here, there is room to move on while there is a lot to look at in the meantime. Gets several visits when we couldn't be bothered to queue up to look inside the houses. Great place to take a break!

  • The garden is amazing. Nice place to have a stroll in the center of Uppsala and gain some knowledge about plants.
  • Beautiful to walk around, guide was really prepared and nice.
  • Very nicely curated.
  • Possibly very genuine but does leave an aftertaste of tourist trap. Much of the garden is not in use (possibly in fallow) and far from as well kept as the Uppsala botanical garden. The side building (not the Linné museum, which is great) is a couple of stuffy rooms with informative posters and a collection of tools and artifacts from the garden. Not ... bad but considering the entrance fee it ought to be better.
  • A small botanical garden, but far better than the other, big, botanical garden in Uppsala. And this has a lot more interesting history to it. Many informative signs.

Where to stay in Uppsala

University town Uppsala represents a relatively affordable Swedish destination. A number of hostels surround the city center, and proximity to the city center is key--the closer the better for exploring on foot all that the city has to offer. Many mid-range hotels ensure a comfortable stay at a reasonable cost, oftern with breakfast included. If luxury is more your style, look for the big chain hotels.
