  • From the 20.08.2016, we booked the 50 km tour with 2 adults and two teenagers aged 15 and 13. The briefing was detailed and fun evening. Also the loading on the first morning, the Organization and the staff worthwhile getting up early. The roles of the tribes at low tide and construction of the raft in cold water were the first challenges. Who can't stand cold water, should take with absolutely high rubber boots. After the double raft was done, it was quite exhausted, late afternoon and our squad so we decided to spend the night at the site and start rested only on the next morning and had breakfast. A wise decision, if you on the tour times on a sand bank puts on or takes the wrong branch by the flow and must push back the raft. The first anchor attempts with Canoe ahead and quickly wrap rope around the tree, requires patience, strength and alertness. The tip, not hungry to go should you heed, they know what they're talking about. The sell-off with the bar, not walking on sand banks or knocking against the shore, we had out pretty quickly and found inside after dropping in the quiet pace of the river. Gliding along, enjoy, listen to the silence. Afternoon slowly thinking about a beautiful campground on deserted sandbars, enjoy a coffee on board, in the evening Campfire and marshmallows eat... a journey back to the earlier time. Us has as a family much joy made it and puts us in the rest by frantic German everyday life. Through the 50 km, enough time remained to the dawdle or create. There are enough ways to replenish the food, you need to carry not all. The trip has fallen even our dog. A tour to discover the freedom and simplicity of life.

  • After a few years of thinking, we came at last to shoots and booked a week rafting on Klarälven River, 10 miles in less than a week. Wilderness of Värmland has a good organization applicable to transport people and equipment, worked great. The gathering place before we were, which was termination point could be made considerably more pleasant. Something that should be a matter of course, shower facilities and maybe even a sauna, such as puts zest to life. Should also be some wind protection that you could live in, instead of having to unpack all their packing, camping, etc. for a night departure day 2 went in the early morning. Once on site, we could see that it was low tide and we needed to drag/carry/roll each log approximately 40 m, (about 2 tonnes of stock), down to the edge of the beach, out in a little water, up on a sandbar and into the water, puff. At the time it was built 7-8 floats, however, only two instructors, should have been more, 1 instructor at 2 builds, at least, the construction period was about 5-6 hrs per raft. Pretty physically demanding, it would have been great if there had been any kind of light refreshments for lunch. Once again you had to unpack their equipment to get their equipment, food and kitchen. When the raft was finished, they were quite tired and had a little pain in the body. We were asked to keep a view by ground, stones, etc. In the worst case if you went because you could be forced to demolish parts of the raft to escape to then build it back together again, a nightmare. We had intended to build two rafts to pair these, we realized that we had not managed this as well as it would be heavy if we ran aground. Got a lot of oral information about various things before we left. All information should be printed, preferably plastic wrapped and fastened on the inside of the lid to the wood crates that we could borrow or rent. To find great places to stay on was not easy, high walls, clay, grass/sly, shallow water, etc. made it difficult to get up a tent. A lot of mud along the beaches. To increase availability, there should be little grubbed sites to look up to, perhaps because of the mil. However, there were one or two camping sites and a Windbreak on 10 mil which is not enough. The timber floating was a permanent pass to not go because, in his mind, raft, raft-Riva riva ... With paddles and long poles did we managed to avoid anything too hard groundings, got to jump in the River at some point to push/drag and change the weight distribution. We had probably imagined a rather ' soft ' life on the raft, read a book, go fishing, sunbathing, etc., but alas. Bought pretty expensive fishing licenses, fishing is not a right time, there was no time. After two days, we realized that this probably was not something for us for the simple reason that the raft entirely ruled the existence, there was no time to do anything other than keep an eye on the raft and its path and that we thought that the raft was too small, barely 3 x 3 m., when all the equipment was packed, there was not so much a place for us , 2 people the idea to move the raft is great, feels like Wilderness Värmland simply flows, do not develop the concept. Imagine if you got a cup of coffee first day when we came, what if we had a review/a buy one lunch during naval construction, what if it's been simple pitches at the River, what if there was a shower/sauna in Gunnerud, imagine if there were shelters in Gunnerud. Price for 7 days was approximately 3500 kr, reasonable, would have paid a little more about some of the above suggestions were met. The staff were very friendly and helpful even though it was the end of the season. A note of warning should be increased, especially to those who have children with them. for the construction sites, (rafts) are the logs of pretty high mounds and these will easily rolling, are hard/heavy, more or less impossible to stop why injury risks are high, of course, applies to adults. If possible, order the fine weather, we had done, had the Sun nearly all week, cannon. OGA mfl
