  • Visited the museum in november 2016. Walked around in the nice building that this museum is located in the very interesting information about the petroglyphs and about life at that time. Parking and restaurant. Walking distance to the other side of the road where there are rock carvings to watch.

  • History sounds really when I look at Vitlycke's carvings. How long did a figure? Scenic trails and lovely area. The children found the bronze age the village was exciting (and me too). But this museum is my favorite. Especially where you can "adjust" how sea water levels have changed the landscape. At our summer house in Southampton about 25 m above sea level, there are shell banks, petroglyphs ship rings etc.

  • The rock carvings in Tanumshede is in my eyes a must-have for every Nordic citizens regardless of religion and ethnicity. Extremely well sanitized presentation of rock art in amazing surroundings. A visit in the fall is probably preferable when visitor numbers are lower. Combined with the lovely höstluft it is an unbeatable combination. Unfortunately, the Museum closed during our visit, why my review relates only to the rock carvings. The Museum was open Tuesday-Sunday 11-16 in this year's autumn holiday and ahead of the upcoming visit, current visitor hours checked up.
