Stortorget is the central square in Gamla Stan, the old town, and you can not go to Stockholm without a ride into town, breathe its holiday atmosphere, buy a souvenir. The square is small and, let's face it, is worth the visit more for what it represents and it evokes that for its beauty.

  • Nice historical square. Peaceful place at 6am before anyone gets there. Nothing opens until 9-10am though. Look for the cannon ball in the wall of the yellow building.
  • Gamla Stan is of course awesome. Here it is especially fascinating with the canon ball in the wall, to now about the blood bath and the chocolate cup cafe is well worth a visit.
  • One the touristic places in Stockholm. If you're are at Gamla stan, it is recommended to go there.
  • Centre of Gamlastan and a place with lot of history. Place to find and take the picture of these iconic colorful Stockholm buildings. This square has a history related to Swedish and Danish monarchy. Remember to visit the noble museum, underground cafes and small streets with unique shops!
  • The heart of the old district is very picturesque. Old colorful building with lots of history, character, and charm.
