  • A fun museum for all ages. Kids can test drive the buses, metros and trams while the adults are passengers, Much nostalgia for the older. A real small train for children. Good dining room where food/snacks can be bought or your own packed lunch can be eaten. In addition, entry low.

  • A nice Museum to visit to find out as you travel land and sea to Stockholm. The kids have fun to ride on the train, for a fee, in turn, get on and try to drive the old and new vehicles of this town and see the collection of toy trains, airplanes and ships on display. There is also a bar where you buy food, coffee and drinks. Easy to reach and offer a discount for those who arrive by Metro.

  • Really interesting although it is small. Inside the museum there is another museum with toys! The museum of toys and it is pretty interesting. I loved the toys from the 70s and all the retro things. T...  more »

  • Great for families with kids... We visited on a rainy day during the week and it was quite busy, I suppose it's a popular place among families in Stockholm. The entrance fee is very reasonable (50 SEK) and the place is packed with all kind of stuff related to transport presented in an entertaining way for children. Do get the extra ticket for the ride on the mini train if you're visiting with younger children!
  • The perfect place for kids interested in busses, trains, trams, subways and more. Terrific assortment of authentic vehicles with great interactive exhibits and Stockholm's best gift shop. Will be here many times.
  • Fun for kids and enthusiasts. Not so much for everyone else.
  • Now permanently closed, will open again in a few years in a new building near Ropsten
  • Stockholm's transport history.. must visit for kids along with parents. Worth for kids older than 5 years

Where to stay in Stockholm

Glitzy Stockholm provides an abundance of high-end four-star hotels and international chains that come with a reputation of being pricey and feature a distinguished Scandinavian design. You can save yourself a little money by searching out the discounts these hotels often offer. If you're looking for something more affordable, consider the medium-priced hotels north of the Old Town. The least-expensive options lie near Central Station. Since offerings tend to be more affordable the farther you go from the city center, you'll serve yourself well to find a spot near public transport. Hostels in the city tend to fill up fast, so book online in advance. Many of hotels offer the
