SkyView, Stockholm

2.9
Ride in an external elevator along the outside of the largest spherical building in the world at SkyView. Enjoy panoramic views of Stockholm as the car rises up to 130 m (425 ft) above sea level. Two spherical gondolas, each holding 16 people, operate on parallel tracks, with trips about every ten minutes. Tours sell out, especially on weekends and during the summer, so advance tickets are advised. The Ericsson Globe building houses the national indoor arena of Sweden. • We catch a cloudless day, charge cell phones and sjelfi-stick and go! View is good, but unfortunately not old town "on your Palm"

  • Travelled by tram for half an hour with a 16 month old to be told they were fully booked as they had several coaches which had arrived. What a waste of time!  more »
  • I was really excited to visit the skyview. I wish I would have read some reviews before trekking all the way over to that part of the city for what I would consider to be a so-so experience. In hindsi...  more »

  • Amazing view, but this ride to enjoy the view is quite short and expensive. On a sunny day this glass box gets a little hot. Also experienced 1.5 hr waiting. Good is that the service is good, the glass box is not overcrowded and nice video introduction is very informative.
  • Fun experience with nice views over the city. The introduction movie gives a good representation about what happend there with the four stadiums in one place!
  • You cant see as much as expected, like the Canals/ Water and point out the individual highlights, but it is definitely nice up there and you get some good Pictures.
  • There's nothing mind blowing for the price - the views from the top can be seen from a variety of other (free) places around the city. An intro video with trivia about the arenas was interesting and well made but the ride itself was short and unmemorable - would be better with an augmented reality glass instead of regular glass so you could tap the location you're looking at and get more info about it. As it is, it was just a high view that's easily beaten by other views around Stockholm. One good thing is that capacity is limited so no fear of it being crowded in the gondola - it's easy to talk and move around and see everything.
  • Good view, good place for families and ppl does not look for crazy stuff

Where to stay in Stockholm

Glitzy Stockholm provides an abundance of high-end four-star hotels and international chains that come with a reputation of being pricey and feature a distinguished Scandinavian design. You can save yourself a little money by searching out the discounts these hotels often offer. If you're looking for something more affordable, consider the medium-priced hotels north of the Old Town. The least-expensive options lie near Central Station. Since offerings tend to be more affordable the farther you go from the city center, you'll serve yourself well to find a spot near public transport. Hostels in the city tend to fill up fast, so book online in advance. Many of hotels offer the
