Rosendals Garden, Stockholm

4.5
#4 of 20 in Parks in Stockholm
Situated just west of the Rosendal Palace, Rosendals Garden serves as a public space that is famous for its lovely gardens as well as its shop, cafe, and bakery. Swedish King Karl XIV Johan developed this area into an English park in the 19th century; it was opened to visitors with the goal of educating the public about the history of agriculture and gardening. Today you can walk along paths in the tranquil European gardens, including the fruit, rose, and wine gardens. Stop in to the site's popular gardening and gift shop or pull up a seat at the cafe or bakery to sample some renowned baked goods. The cafe serves up food and wines made from plants grown in the gardens. Plan to visit Rosendals Garden during your Stockholm vacation using our convenient Stockholm travel tool .

If you want to spend some time immersed in an oasis of peace, this is the place. The Rosedals Garden is a must for those who pass from Stockholm. Is a garden/restaurant that cultivates, collects and kitchen products of their own land. Vegetables, vegetables and other delicacies prepared directly from them. I was impressed by the peaceful atmosphere of the place: man and nature in perfect harmony. The price of a lunch here is average: we took two Smørrebrød (a vegan and one with ham) both yummy; a slice of their carrot cake and a gazpacho (good, but nothing special). Bread and butter, water and tea. In all we spent about €20 each. At the end of the lunch you have to return your tray in a kind of kitchen cutlery and rinse quickly throw everything in the bins for separate waste collection. I mean, heaven!

Where to stay in Stockholm

Glitzy Stockholm provides an abundance of high-end four-star hotels and international chains that come with a reputation of being pricey and feature a distinguished Scandinavian design. You can save yourself a little money by searching out the discounts these hotels often offer. If you're looking for something more affordable, consider the medium-priced hotels north of the Old Town. The least-expensive options lie near Central Station. Since offerings tend to be more affordable the farther you go from the city center, you'll serve yourself well to find a spot near public transport. Hostels in the city tend to fill up fast, so book online in advance. Many of hotels offer the
