  • Unexpectedly with a restaurant upstairs. Friendly environment with many many beers. Knowledgeable staff enhances the experience.

  • We loved this quirky museum! It was very quiet - I don't think it is well advertised or considered one of the places to go when in Stockholm. It is set over three floors and each has something to see ...  more »
  • We spent a great few hours at this museum today. My kids are 6 and loved the little post office section! They could have played there all day! They have a lovely arts and crafts section with a person ...  more »

  • This place is a return to the past from the beginning of the time when a message was sent by walking or by horse. Pony express, trains till the modern ways to transmit a postcard. I saw the beautiful uniforms in the different epochs; it was all so engaging and emotional I immediately thought of the stories of my father, a retired postman, and my grandfather's life, a postman too. One of those who headed the museum told me about the building where once the old post office was. Thanks to him and to all those who work to make this museum truly extraordinary!
  • One of the lesser known museums in Stockholm is the Postal museum located in the old town. It is a nice story about the Swedish postal history, uniforms and stamps. It is inexpensive and you can easily spend two hours walking around the museum and there is a nice restaurant as well and a pretty good section for kids. A very nice speciality museum.
  • Small but great for kids: multiple playrooms in basement about postage
  • Good place
  • Nice little quiet museum

Where to stay in Stockholm

Glitzy Stockholm provides an abundance of high-end four-star hotels and international chains that come with a reputation of being pricey and feature a distinguished Scandinavian design. You can save yourself a little money by searching out the discounts these hotels often offer. If you're looking for something more affordable, consider the medium-priced hotels north of the Old Town. The least-expensive options lie near Central Station. Since offerings tend to be more affordable the farther you go from the city center, you'll serve yourself well to find a spot near public transport. Hostels in the city tend to fill up fast, so book online in advance. Many of hotels offer the
