  • Norrmalm is Stockholm at least nice town with many tall ugly houses, lots of people and on Sergels torg is the often large amounts of drug addicts and alcoholics. Norrmalm stretches from the East to klarastrandsleden Birger Jarlsgatan in West, Central, North and South. There are of course fine neighborhoods with some older homes, but most of it is right gray House from the 1960s. The breakfast is very good. Sergels torg is well the worst of all with its gray stones and lots of junkies, often loud music being played and a pretty insecure. A lot of pickpockets, the homeless and beggars. In and around Sergels torg is the often extreme amounts of shoppers. The Mall is not something I can recommend. Always a lot of houses and streets built on, so always messy with lots of trucks, cranes and streets shut down. On Norrmalm, there are plenty of shops and cafés. Queen Street and the streets around is Stockholm's main shopping streets, filled with stores for shopaholics. Something I can recommend is Wheat cat (traditional and cosy café), NK (Department stores with fine products) and Urban Deli (retail and restaurant with very vegetarian). In the spring the Park is nice with all the blooming cherry trees, but not otherwise. Norrmalm is located in the very centre of Stockholm, so of course there are lots of communications, T-Centralen Metro station, where three metro lines meet Stockholm, Stockholm, Sweden, central to the entire interurban and commuter trains to the suburbs and peri-urban communities. At the city terminal is the coaches to whole Sweden and Europe. Inner-city buses are plentiful around Sergels torg. Are you in Stockholm, some hours on Norrmalm is worth it, but not anymore than that and I would not recommend to stay in Norrmalm.

  • We stayed in this area which has the advantage of being central and close to the central station. It is busy (a little trendy in some places) and there are lots of shops (including Vuitton, Prada etc.). It feels quite safe. It is nice along the water on foot to reach Djurgården (leisure Island) where you will find the Vasa (about 2-3 km) Museum.

  • The best shopping area in town. It's classy, big alleys and a lot of beautiful store. The atmosphere is really good as well. Trendy.  more »
