Arrived in pouring rain at the Nordiska Museet, because the snake at the Vasa Museum was so long... The building is very impressive, the King Gustav Vasa carved from giant oaks also (if not my taste) on the ground floor, there was a good exhibition on the theme of light. This exhibition was due to their good treatment in marked contrast to the rest of the Museum.

Located at the Djurgarden with at least 10 other museums. The Nordic is the most majestic and opulent of the museums there. It is worth a couple of hours visit if you would like to enjoy everything. T...  more »

Lovely museum! What used to be exactly what it meant, a Nordic Museum is now mainly a Swedish Museum. Shows how Sweden was transformed over the years since medieval times. Has very interesting displays and audio commentary on the lives of those who lived in that age. Different floors housing different exhibits, one can easily spend 2hrs browsing.

The museum offers a variety of exhibits, from clothing throughout the ages to ancient furniture and textiles. There are also exhibits on photography and how light has influenced the city planning and decisions. We enjoyed the exhibits on the Norther Lights the most and thought the museum was wonderfully decorated and arranged. Some of the exhibits were a little dry, but the history pieces were really interesting. The museum did an excellent job of illustrating what parts of Swedish culture were indigenous and how the country was influenced by outside cultures throughout its history.

If you like fashion, interior design and jewelry this is a very good museum. This is full off furniture, clothes, table settings 🤔 and related things. I personally like it but if you don't like this stuff you are better off avoiding it.

Wonderful museum. Great way to see the swedish way of life now and then. They have headphones to describe the exhibits on other languages.

Beautiful building! But I think it might be more interesting for a Swedish tourist than for the rest of us. A bit to specific sometimes
