So far have only been testing the sauna but is slightly disappointed with the "culture" of the communal sauna for ladies and gentlemen. Much spring in and out while saunameistern are doing an aufguss-in my world, there is a rule that one does not "disrupt" an aufguss without door is closed (we must absolutely leave so to do it but it will not in the middle of). Since there is a big sign that you should be quiet in the sauna which is also not respected-it was very shoal and talk, not very relaxing! Unfortunately no big shots!

After three days of tour of the city, we had the need (in spite of jogging in the Djurgården and Yoga with MO from "run with me Stockholm) urgently after something more natural and athletic movement. Hellasgården is ideal for this. Bus 401 from Slussen is in 20 minutes in a great environment with marked jogging trails, tennis courts, mini golf etc. The jogging tracks are cute, each also challenging after selected length (height) and at the end, you can simple sauna and rest on or in the wonderful Lake. To bring you need only the jogging clothes and EV. You can rent very cheap swimsuits, towels etc. Hellasgården is an insider tip for tourists likely, here are mainly locals.

Hellasgarden, a great General in a lush park around the Lake. Open to everyone, there are large parking lots on the edge. Free sauna, sauna is introduced into the Lake from cold the next. Good a place as any to do all kinds of sports.

  • Fine place to sit and watch the nature while talk with your friends. Also a place to swim in the summer, and have ice bath in winter.
  • A lot of walking trails in a lovely forest. Be aware of the presence of snakes.
  • Sauna, cold water, ice skating and a local Swedish life style bring a great combination for a weekend!
  • An amazing place to go hiking. Bring your walking boots and binoculars and enjoy the wonderful landscape.
  • Hellasgården is a great recreation area both during summer and winter. Both the cafe and restaurant has food. Awesome tracks around for MTB and trail running and during winter ski tracks are arranged.

Where to stay in Stockholm

Glitzy Stockholm provides an abundance of high-end four-star hotels and international chains that come with a reputation of being pricey and feature a distinguished Scandinavian design. You can save yourself a little money by searching out the discounts these hotels often offer. If you're looking for something more affordable, consider the medium-priced hotels north of the Old Town. The least-expensive options lie near Central Station. Since offerings tend to be more affordable the farther you go from the city center, you'll serve yourself well to find a spot near public transport. Hostels in the city tend to fill up fast, so book online in advance. Many of hotels offer the
