Gröna Lund, Stockholm

3.7
#2 of 36 in Nightlife in Stockholm
With over 30 rides, Gröna Lund offers an amusing place for families with kids--and anyone else looking for some simple fun. Rides range from tame to scary. The highlight is the tilting drop tower, allowing visitors to drop from 80 m (262 ft) in less than 6 seconds--it's a brief drop, but the views of Stockholm are great, so keep your eyes open. Smaller version of Tivoli Gardens in Copenhagen. Admission price is steep and tickets for the rides are even more expensive. Food is standard amusement park grub. Nice location but not worth the price...  more »

Gröna Lund is clearly a theme park to visit if visiting Stockholm and want to have fun. Think it is somewhat crowded in among the rides and queue sadly stand very near roller coasters that sounds very. But once that part is done, it's fun!

Ridiculous. You have to pay to set foot on their grounds, but you can't do anything for your money. You simply pay for the right to enter! Except to see a concert that might be on. All rides need to be paid for separately. You can do games though... said the staff member. If you pay for them. O! And, also according to him, you can go to the restaurants. Never seen such an unfriendly way of getting money out of guests. Thankfully I used my Stockholm Pass, otherwise I would have demanded a refund.

Fun for complete family. Nice rides for kids of all ages.. We had kids of ages 9-45, they all enjoyed a lot. One can easily spend a day there.. Recommended for a visit with family.

This place gets 5 stars solely for its cheap concerts during the summer season. You can see a ton of Wold Class bands for one cheap summer pass. Outside of that it is a small amusement park on the water. The roller coasters are dated and nothing that is overly exciting. When the weather is nice on the weekend or a holiday this place gets packed. If you plan on being there one of those times be prepared to stand in line.

This amusement park is situated in a lovely place on the edge of an island near the Stockholm city center, and just next to lots of other fascinating attractions such as the Vasa Museum and Skansen. The place itself is rather bland, though. The rides are generally too short, the queues are long and often wind way outside the designated areas making the place seem even more crowded, and the selection of attractions is tepid at best. I understand that they have a shortage of space, but having four different versions of a free-fall attraction and not a single proper (long!) roller coaster does not make a world-class amusement park. On the plus side, they have an impressive list of music entertainers playing through the summer nights. This year they've had Alice Cooper, Slayer, Rob Zombie, Bryan Ferry among others. It is kind of weird that the Swedish capital doesn't have a proper amusement park with real roller coasters!

This amusement park is awesome. The rides are daring, high, and fun. If you go after 19:00, passes are discounted. Went on a Monday, the longest we waited was 20 minutes.

Where to stay in Stockholm

Glitzy Stockholm provides an abundance of high-end four-star hotels and international chains that come with a reputation of being pricey and feature a distinguished Scandinavian design. You can save yourself a little money by searching out the discounts these hotels often offer. If you're looking for something more affordable, consider the medium-priced hotels north of the Old Town. The least-expensive options lie near Central Station. Since offerings tend to be more affordable the farther you go from the city center, you'll serve yourself well to find a spot near public transport. Hostels in the city tend to fill up fast, so book online in advance. Many of hotels offer the
