Fjarilshuset (Butterfly House), Stockholm
(2.4/5 based on 160+ reviews on the web)
Enter Stockholm's tropical oasis and admire some of nature's most radiant colors at Fjarilshuset (Butterfly House). Located inside Haga Park, the lush indoor heaven of exotic greenery, bright flowers, and warm streams is home to more than 700 different species of butterflies flying freely. The temperature inside the habitat is regulated throughout the year and allows its delicate residents to flourish even in Sweden's cold climate. Even though it's located outside Stockholm city-center, the park is easily reached by car or public transportation. Humidity inside the habitat is kept at high levels, which benefits the butterflies, but might be unpleasant for sensitive visitors. • A fine destination for families who want to experience a tropical environment with exciting animal. Here you can see the beautiful butterflies, fish and other small animals. It is especially nice to come here in the summer when it's usually there are more kinds of butterflies. Much to see and discover. Really worth seeing!

  • 10 min by train from long-distance + little walk and you are in the land of childhood:) Note, the highlight for attentive observers! If you believe that butterflies sit in a row and will wait until they know it, it will be disappointed! You should also be careful! Not only by the weight of the kids who are running around there (we were on a Saturday-couples I recommend a trip a week!), but thanks to przeeeesłodkich tiny quail, which run "loose". With programmatic activities: wild boar animal-only for children, adult-żenada; butterflies-wonderful! Not only that, you feel like motylim safari on the lookout for further specimens, you can preview how ridiculously eat on fruit set. BA! You can even see how to escape from the cocoons can be observed in various stages of development because they are collected in one place. The Aquarium, in turn, is rather a while cooling off period and wystudzenie after the tropical temperatures in the motylarni, although the kids squealing when sharks pass inches from them:) As for me, it's worth it! Then you can walk through the beautiful park come to the Centre.

  • Offers a nice walk in a subtropical environment for you and your children. Lots of interesting animals. The shark aquarium is awsome!
  • Came for the butterflies and stayed for the shark tank. The museum is small, so don't expect a huge exposition. Everything is well kept and the animals seem happy. It's great for bringing kids. If you don't have kids I suggest you to come around 12, because most of the parents with kids are eating at the adjoining restaurant at this time.
  • Very disappointing! You pay for the parking and beware I had a fine of 300 kr for only 5 mins delay! Afterwards the admission entry fees is not worth at all what you see! Very few butterflies which can be counted... a number of reptiles most of them were fake! It was extremely humid inside. A few tanks of fishes and a shark. It is not a recommendation for those who have visited butterfly houses and aquariums.
  • We went here because my wife really likes butterflies. She liked what she saw, but really wished there was more too it than there was. We only ended up seeing a few different types, and there was not a lot of stuff to read about them. They did have a decent amount of them when we went, so you did not have to go looking for them, but there were plenty that were also there but difficult to spot if you were not looking for them. Included in the price is some other exhibits with some small ground birds, and a few tanks of fish, including 1 giant tank with several sharks inside (black tip and reef shark). Overall it was interesting, but it just seemed really over priced for what they offered. I could see this being a lot more appealing if you had young kids with you, but that was not the case for us.
  • We had so much fun. This place is great. Family friendly, with a cafe outside and lots of souvenirs. The museum is fun and time flies inside.
