Fjarilshuset (Butterfly House), Stockholm

(2.4/5 based on 170+ reviews on the web)
Enter Stockholm's tropical oasis and admire some of nature's most radiant colors at Fjarilshuset (Butterfly House). Located inside Haga Park, the lush indoor heaven of exotic greenery, bright flowers, and warm streams is home to more than 700 different species of butterflies flying freely. The temperature inside the habitat is regulated throughout the year and allows its delicate residents to flourish even in Sweden's cold climate. Even though it's located outside Stockholm city-center, the park is easily reached by car or public transportation. Humidity inside the habitat is kept at high levels, which benefits the butterflies, but might be unpleasant for sensitive visitors. • A pleasant visit at the Butterfly House, plenty of families with children. A few children were rescued when the butterflies came against them. You might not be so small children there, but maybe they'll be a little older. So that they understand that the butterflies flying around out in the open. A pleasant visit even for couples without children.

  • Exciting world to step into. Like being in Thailand, said treåringen. Butterflies of various kinds which fly freely, gold fish, sharks, snails, frogs, the list of what you can discover. There was also a coffee and food to buy and of course the gift shop.

  • For entering the price a little expensive initially, you can buy some things he loves children, inside the garden butterflies Butterfly number few but large, and there are some birds jealousy on walkways, you should pay attention to who they are and, the beauty of the place see sharks from several stained glass Windows, not a big place but it is fun for fans of sharks and children

  • Offers a nice walk in a subtropical environment for you and your children. Lots of interesting animals. The shark aquarium is awsome!
  • Came for the butterflies and stayed for the shark tank. The museum is small, so don't expect a huge exposition. Everything is well kept and the animals seem happy. It's great for bringing kids. If you don't have kids I suggest you to come around 12, because most of the parents with kids are eating at the adjoining restaurant at this time.
  • Very disappointing! You pay for the parking and beware I had a fine of 300 kr for only 5 mins delay! Afterwards the admission entry fees is not worth at all what you see! Very few butterflies which can be counted... a number of reptiles most of them were fake! It was extremely humid inside. A few tanks of fishes and a shark. It is not a recommendation for those who have visited butterfly houses and aquariums.
  • We went here because my wife really likes butterflies. She liked what she saw, but really wished there was more too it than there was. We only ended up seeing a few different types, and there was not a lot of stuff to read about them. They did have a decent amount of them when we went, so you did not have to go looking for them, but there were plenty that were also there but difficult to spot if you were not looking for them. Included in the price is some other exhibits with some small ground birds, and a few tanks of fish, including 1 giant tank with several sharks inside (black tip and reef shark). Overall it was interesting, but it just seemed really over priced for what they offered. I could see this being a lot more appealing if you had young kids with you, but that was not the case for us.
  • We had so much fun. This place is great. Family friendly, with a cafe outside and lots of souvenirs. The museum is fun and time flies inside.
