Experience the frontlines for yourself at Army Museum, which features life-size models of uniforms and weapons. The building housing the museum was built in the 17th century to produce and store artillery weapons. Explore the three floors of exhibits, where you'll learn about mercenaries, crime and punishment, and animals in war. The site depicts Swedish history from the 16th century onwards, including the modern state of neutrality, and includes an impressive collection of artifacts amassed by Swedish soldiers during war, such as flags, banners, and musical instruments. The onsite library features texts on uniforms, weapons, and conscription. Take a guided tour or use an audio headset. Good displays and layout. An hour here can easily be spent. Not really interactive but reading is optional and plenty to look at. Only 1 tank and 1 drone and 2 armed vehicle on display. More about war...  more »

The museum is basically split in 2 parts. One floor covering the 1500's till 1900. And another floor covering everything after 1900. This museum is great for both adults and children, as everything is...  more »

I was reluctant because I am visiting the museums of its kind in France. Nothing to do! As usual in this country we have part visitors, we visit places reconstitues, it plunges us into atmospheres from the time when we were the war at horse until the strategy games. Incredible. You will not be disappointed. Changing rooms, toilets, restaurant (not tested). Shop provided for children. Excellent free.

  • 3 floors tall. Has military historical artifacts. They even have some old medieval flags and armor. It is located in a neat building, and I think you can even park there if you have a car. There is a gift shop, lockers to put things in for some cash, bathrooms to use, and I think there was a cafe attached. It is $0.00 to enter. :o)
  • A true place to be for any army enthusiast! Great pieces on display in a very well organized museum. Highly recommended!
  • Awesome museum. And it is FREE! Incredible place. Do not miss it.
  • Very good museum, despite it's name focuses more on preventing war. History exhibits are very good and detailed and it's nice to see how they focus on making those permanent exhibits really good instead of putting up lots of temporary exhibits. In my opinion more fun than the history museum although you should visit both.
  • Very cool museum if you are into military history. Three floors of exhibits. Plus admission is free. Well worth the visit.
