We started the tour to peek into the Museum and it was great to read that the first gym tools was created here. It was during the time when family sisters Zanders Emelie and Hilda ran a girls ' Board (school) where they taught girls from Nice families that their brother Gustaf invented the "Mechanical apparaljer". Gustaf worked as a gym teacher but did not think he had the time with it so he invented the apparaljer (fitness equipment) that students could train on during the 1850-60 century. These Appareljer then spread to both hospitals within rehabilitation care but also to the rich people. There were pictures and movies of dressed-up men with top hat that sat on various gym machines and trained with style! It was also the ship Titanic had a gym that was decorated with these "Mechanical apparaljer"! It was also to karlslund manor was a small community that was self-sufficient by about 100 workers. Here lived even herrgårsfruar that went against the norm to a Manor House wife was frail and pale and just had the responsibility for home and children. Manor House wife and master Agneta Anchor swords (1806) had exclusive care of the economy and the tough decisions on the farm and the married couple Caroline and Carl Anchor swords (1850-) shared both at the farm's responsibility, both economy and other decisions regarding the farm's management. We finished with a walk in the beautiful gardens of the Manor and the grandmother who was recognized several flowers from her own childhood farms!

On my opinion, it is only worth to go after May. I was there at the end of April, and the Winter ended quite late this year, so there were no flowers at all. It was very disappointing :(  more »

  • Really nice walk around the land, would be really nice in summer!
  • Really good.
  • Nice place for a picnic
  • We were slightly early in the season so the plants had not yet come into its own yet. But clearly a pleasant setting to relax in; Perhaps children were a little disappointed after having painted a picture based on the brochure about the children's garden.
