St. Petri (St. Peter's Church), Malmo

Categories: Architectural Buildings, Tourist Spots
Inspirock Rating:
4.3/5 based on 400+ reviews on the web
Marvel at the simplicity of St. Petri (St. Peter's Church), a large house of worship built in the Gothic style in 1319. The grand brick exterior is complete with a 105 m (344 ft) tower and surrounded by stone carvings. In contrast, the interior features simple white walls that enhance the ornate fixtures and altar. One section of the ceiling has been restored to the original painted mural. As the oldest building in the city, the church provides a haven for quiet retreat. An informational pamphlet is available at an additional cost. • Malmo tomteyytett Center's quite old a nice mid-sized Church. Northern European countries, churches or cathedrals in smaller sizes. Central Europe is no match with the Church.

  • Typical Church "Scandinavian", to my taste really lovely externally. Worth a visit because it is one of not many architectural wonders of Malmo. Inside are unfortunately I managed to visit.

  • It caught my attention the architecture of this beautiful church, dating back to 1300. It is very close to the main square in Malmö (Stortorget).

  • St. Petri kirke. (St. Peters church). It wasn't on the map, but I saw a sign to go in. The church itself is very plain and boring. But pay 25kr and get the key. The attendant opens a secret door and viola a mosoleum from the 1600s containing the bastards of the kings, prominent families and leaders of Denmark. Jackpot if you like funerary art and history
  • Nice church
  • The church itself has nothing especial, but the statue about the death in the garden is totally worthy to check.
  • Cute little church
