  • At first when I walked in there I didn't even notice, only when it had advanced a good few metres and saw the graves of the two sides is that I realized that I was in a cemetery. Being a central part of the city, is what is called a good use of space to use the central corridor as passage.

  • Old cemetery — also known as Old cemetery — located in the heart of Malmö 's city centre, where it was built in the 1820 's. At the beginning of 1800 was great at begavningsplatser in Malmö. There were only two churches in Malmö, the German Church, where the Caroli church now stands, and St. Petri. The finest was to be buried inside the Church, but also outside of the two cemeteries, it was crowded and you couldn't expect to get rest in peace any longer. In the 1800 's two large squares, Queen square Gustav Adolfs Torg. West of Gustav Adolf had planned a walk. This city would fine families stroll on Sundays. Who came up with the idea to make a cemetery of the area is not known, but on nov 10. 1822 was inaugurated to Alderman Isaac Malmborg was buried there. He died of "häcktik" which sounds like a "stress-related illness" of talking patriotic. The cemetery was originally divided into seven blocks. Four of these was assigned to the burial spots, the fifth was deposed for the city's poor hospitalets and the sixth for knaves and staff. In the seventh district was buried Pittsburgh: John s. Davidson! Today built no new grave sites, but burials still exists. A Memorial has also been built, but mainly are old cemetery, a quiet park for Locals and tourists to walk in a program has been prepared for the restoration of burial places. The trees will be inventoried, fences can be restored and the stones will be cleaned, and the text must be filled in so that it can once again read the names of the old Locals who rests here.

  • The "old Kirch Hof" is a cemetery, which was super integrated in the city in my opinion... the Green sitting people and enjoy the summer weather. I love this combination and I haven't seen that yet in Germany

  • In a first moment I was confused, graveyard as part of a city, city center? But infact it is quite cool. It's a mix of a city park and tombstones which are representing history of Malme. It looks almost like National protected green zone, you have rabbits running around. Must see.
  • Very beautiful par even you can walk through as a shortcut because it's very stratigic place
  • Old cemetery in the middle of the city. A nice walk through it leads you to the King's park!
  • An oasis in the city; quiet, peaceful and beautiful any time of the year. A wonderful place to enjoy a good book or just wander around and take in the special atmosphere.
  • Swedes seem to like walking and running in cemeteries. I've seen a bunch of people running in these places and a lot more walk through here. This small one is more like a park and is connected to a biger park that's crossed by a water chanel.
