4.6
#1 of 8 in Parks in Lund
Sprawling over 20 acres, Botanical Garden showcases 7,000 colorful species of plants. Two hundred plants reside in greenhouses customized to nine different climate zones. The garden was built in 1690 on the site of Lund University, but was moved to its current location in 1862 after outgrowing its original spot. In 1974 the garden was named a national landmark, and today it continues its legacy as a teaching tool in botany, gardening, and ecology. • That's what it sounds like, a huge botanical garden full of various plants and trees. Those interested can go around and read on the signs, otherwise the Park is a nice place to enjoy the Sun or go for a picnic. There is a cafe in the middle and a small greenhouse with even more plants, as well as some adorable tiny miniature quails. Worth a visit!

  • nice well organized place even in the cloudy Lund days
  • It might not be the largest botanical gardens in the world but it's well kept, cosy, central with a wide range of interesting plants. Do not miss the cute king quails running around inside the greenhouses.
  • Great place to go for a walk to look at the beautiful surroundings and learn about plants; edible and otherwise. If the weather is nice, I would also recommend lunch or fika att the café.
  • I love it here. It is so relaxing just to walk around and see the beauty of the flowers and plants, take a pause and enjoy it. Dont miss the café its the only one here but so cozy.
  • Excellent for taking an evening walk. During summer it is a very good place to take a stroll or have a small picnic with friends surrounded by nature.

Where to stay in Lund

The historical university town of Lund, with its charming buildings and cobblestone streets, generally appeals to travelers with moderate to upscale budgets. Here you'll find a number of mid-range hotels as well as a couple upscale hotels, the closer to the city center the better. There are scant hostels and no guesthouses or bed and breakfasts. Look to Lund's neighboring rival, Uppsala, for more budget-friendly options.
