When you visit Linköping, do not forget to visit the old Linköping. About two km from Linköping city centre you will find an open-air museum where you can see how the House and surroundings looked many years ago. The houses in old Linköping has moved from Linköping to this fine Museum area. There are also many small shops and craftsmen that one can visit. Summer is the most open and you can meet people dressed in clothing from the 1800 's. There is also a nice Theatre, where the summer has given a Revue about the resort's famous husband Tage Danielsson. If you want you can take a train up to Valla where, among other things. There is a railway museum. For children there are many nice small animals to watch. After Waxing takes a walk back to Gamla Linköping where you can snack in Dahlberg coffee or lunch in the Inn.

On the way up to Stockholm, we made stops in old Linköping. A pleasant remnant of an old town of wood. Village houses were from different places in Linköping, many from rivnigsperioden at 50-60 's. Fun and awake by the municipality to take advantage of these taxes.

  • Nice surroundings with a lovely atmosphere that takes you back in time. Great for an afternoon stroll. We visited on Easter and we sad to find out that the majority of displays was not open. A clear hint on the website in English would be helpful. Also, slightly longer opening hours of the nice cafes would be fabulous. So check before!
  • A really beautiful open-air museum, well worth a visit if you like old houses!
  • It is a perl of Linköping, an open air-museum that is still alive with businesses and people. If you have an extra 20-30 minutes to spare you should totally take a stroll through it and visit one of the cute cafés or the Cloetta outlet-store. But remember that this is inhabited by normal people so dont be to nosy.
  • Fun to visit and have a look at the old Linköping. If you can try the Christmas Market which oddly ends before Christmas, good typical street food and lovely Glogg.
  • Perfect stop when traveling by car (E4). Don't miss the chocolate outlet!
