Admire the creative approach to architecture at Kiruna Kyrka, one of the finest examples of Swedish innovation. Completed in 1912, the unusual-looking church is shaped to resemble a traditional Sami tent. The church is filled with masterpieces of art and design, from the gilded statues on the roof to Prince Eugen's elaborate altarpiece, and yet radiates a warm and comfortable atmosphere. Right next to the church is its bell tower, another gem of ecclesiastical architecture. No fee is required to enter the church; check online for a schedule of services and special events, such as concerts. • Very nice Church, do not miss the many elements that Christian Eriksson carved outside and inside. Award-winning architecture inspired by Norwegian stave churches. Exceptionally renskalad interior with Prince Eugen's altarpiece in the Centre. Worth a visit before it moves because of the view.

  • We only got a quick glance because they were closing but it was very impressive.
  • A very impressive place! I felt reassured after entered inside. It is definitely worth a visit among other attractions in Kiruna.
  • A remarkably pretty building, the church is fairly unique with an almost Asian root style and a separate bell tower to the main building. It is the most beautiful building in Kiruna by quite a distance.
  • Very nice church, one of the few things to see in Kiruna
  • Didn't stay in Kiruna for long but I guess this is the one you must go and see when you're there.
