Interessant med sauna, reserach and tradition, good bread and restaurant with excellent view. The staff was very good story tellers and they loved their place.

We organised a family trip to see Santa in Lapland last Christmas and wanted a more authentic experience so decided to do it ourselves. We flew into Stockholm from Ireland and then on to Lulea where we hired a car. The most interesting accommodation we could find in the area was Kukkolaforsen. We arrived in the snow which of course added to the whole experience and met the staff at reception. All of the staff were fantastic throughout the whole stay, including restaurant, reception etc. I was a little bit anxious by looking at the web site that we'd end up in a tent in the snow, but when we arrived, our accommodation was a small cabin in a semi circle overlooking the rapids between Sweden and Finland. The views were stunning - like a postcard. The cabin gorgeous and warm. There were 4 of us in the group - 2 adults and 2 children so it was great to have a sitting room and kitchen area. The rooms are compact but perfect. There was a heater/charger to plug into the car so that when we awoke the next morning, the car was toasty and not completely frozen over. There is a restaurant on site next to the reception and we have dinner there the night we arrived. It was a fabulous buffet with all types of local Swedish food and the staff dressed in local Swedish costume helped us with descriptions of all the food and drink. The food was excellent and our table was overlooking the rapids. The staff couldn't do enough for us and were telling us all the local history and information. I could not recommend this place more highly than to say that it made our holiday so special. We made snow men after breakfast and the kids were knee deep in snow. Magical! Wishing all the fabulous staff all the best in the future:)
Super food. Great familiar ambient. Genuine style.
